Another wednesday and 19 days to go

So in about an hour I'm going to Stephanie's house because we have a math test so this is gonna be short and sweet. I know it cliche to say "I've been busy" but i promise I've been so rapped up in my own teen aged drama to care about anything else. I'm sick of people!!!! Or I'm sick of people at my school and I'm ready to be in college. 19 days to go!!!!!!

Anyways here's the update
 1. the show went great and i go through withdrawals everyday i come home at 3:40 instead of 9 or 10
2. we were nominated for 6 awards!!!!
3. we didn't win any awards but it was and amazing award show... i think you can watch it on the channel 2 website
4. prom was amazing.
5 spring break was awesome. i didn't go anywhere but i did a lot of seriously needed hanging out.
6. decided on a college!!!! Oglethorpe university here i come!!!!!
7. trying to get my grades up. i have this unspeakable grade in ap econ and i need 7 more points in math to get my exemption.
8. I'm thinking that  i've fallen out of love with the internet. I cant even remember how i stayed on the computer for like 5 hours straight. now i just check my email, youtube twitter and then i'm off.
I'm actually really out of love with the vlogbrother and i cant figure out why. I just started rewatching old videos and they're funny and idk. i think i liked it more when it felt like they were really talking to each other... you know what i mean.
anyways again
i have to get dressed to go and study now.
lots of love

Tenley and the Art Projects

So, apparently I'm starting a new blog on my own? That's cool I guess, we all know I have enough personalities to be my own collab blog. *sarcasm* Seriously, though... you should blog.

Not much is happening this week, I've just been finishing up papers and working on several art projects. One in particular I almost forgot about and ended up doing from like 11PM - 5AM this morning/last night whatever you want to call it. The assignment was to decorate a lamp (its for a decorative arts class). It started as this ------->

And by the time I was done (and very tired) it looked something like this. <------

Well what do you think?

I think that's it for me this week, hopefully some of you will a get a chance to blog!

Writing about Poe... oh its Tuesday!

Hey, girls! Sorry I didn't post last week, I was busy doing exactly what I should be doing now... my research paper. Its pretty much my major grade of the semester and its due tomorrow, so this is going to be quick.

@Chelsea I'm glad everything with prom and the show worked out! Oh and I haven't read Shadow of the Wind, but I'll look for next time I go to the library. Which won't be until I turn in this and my many other papers.

@Carissa *makes finger heart thing* I love you, I hope your week gets better!

Everyone else: You should blog, and maybe then you'll get a comment from me.

But that's about it, I have a paper to write. Then after that, another paper to write. Then an art project to finish... oh and that other art project. And math homework. And I should probably read for art appreciation because I haven't done that in awhile (oops). I could probably find more to list, but I really have to go, so bye. Hopefully I'll have more time next week!

15 mins to blog... or save the world

ok so i just got home and saw the time.

I dont know about you girls but i hate drama and what i hate more than drama is being stood up.  if you say your going to be some where at a certain time then its expected that you should be there on time. you dont text the person you are meeting 30 minutes later and say that ur running late and might not be able to go. and then say that ill try and then have the person your meeting have to text you to tell you to forget it even though they have been waiting at the place for AN HOUR by then. it stupid and rude. and does not make one want to give you a second chance to prove yourself.

ok moral of the story is not lie and dont stand people up.

moving on my week has been pretty bad even though it was sprig break i worked everyday and drama surronds me there i swear.

hopefully tomorrow will be better. night girls! i miss u all and why is noone blogging anymore??

Long time no blog...

Hey ladies

I’ve been very absent from the internet lately. I have proper reasons but not all of them are good.

1. The show!!! It went great. You know that feeling you get when you have a crush on someone and they touch you? Well that warm and tingly feeling was how I felt at the end of the last song. I miss staying at the school til 9 believe it or not. I miss my cast and I miss being in a musical!!!

2. PROM!!! Even through all the stupid high school drama I had a really great night! Everything I had planned went perfect. Our limo was awesome, I looked awesome, my date was awesome, my friends were being nice to each other, and everything was just really good!!!!

3. During the show I had let my grade sit on the back burner and now I have to catch up

4. I normally take a nap at 5 o’clock

5. This is weird but I don’t feel as connected to the internet as I did last year. Maybe its cause I got really social… maybe its cause I don’t have a camera.

… I think that’s it.

I just finished the greatest book!!!!! Have any of you read the shadow of the wind? It’s by far my favorite of the year… it’s actually the first book I’ve finished this year but still. I stayed up til 4 in the morning trying to finish and when I was over I had the most amazing feeling. I don’t get why anyone does drugs when they can just read good books. So If you’re ever in Barns and Noble or whatever book store you go to pick up the shadow of the wind. Its almost 5 and time for my nap so I’ll talk to you guys later

Happy Wednesday

Happy Reading

Happy 24 of March

Lots of love

Spring Break

Hey girls its Tuesday! Which means mid-terms are over and I'm finally on Spring break. Unfortunately I procrastinated on writing this all day and now I have do it in like a half an hour (not actually that bad, but still). So let's just go back through the last few days and review what I did.

Friday: After a long day of mid-terms, me and some friends (Annette, Joanna, Tristan and Chris if your interested in their names) got in the car and drove about three and a half hours to Virginia Beach. The trip went shockingly well considering none of us are particularly gifted when it comes to navigating and have never been there. We got there at like 7PM, so we decided to eat, hang out on the boardwalk (which is amazing by the way) and then go to the Hotel and sleep (to whatever extent a group of college kids actually sleep while on Spring break).

Saturday: We went to the beach (shocking I know lol). I won't go into detail because I'm assuming you've all been to the beach and know the various activities one usually participates in while there.

Later through a string of random strangers we pieced together that there was some kind of  "show" on the beach later. We couldn't make out what kind of show, only that there was one and it was free. But after asking we realized it was a musical fountain thing (pretty self explanatory, there's a fountain, there's music, and people watch). I'm not generally into that kind of thing, but it happened to be free and college students are never keen to pass up free things. It was fun, not widely entertaining, but decent and we made our commentary which made it far more entertaining.

Sunday: We went downtown and shopped and ate and watched various street performers (something a smart Youtuber would have filmed, but I'm clearly not one of those. Sorry) before promptly driving back to Lynchburg. Where some of us (Tristan, Chris and Joanna if your curious) flew to their home states/countries (Tristan's from New Zealand) (can I just take a minute to be a total girl and swoon over his amazing accent). And some of us (Annette and me) drove home.

I'm going to skip Monday and Tuesday because nothing really happened. Except that I just watched "Harriet the Spy" on TV... that was fun. Tomorrow I'll probably work on my art project because its due shortly after break.

Mac or PC debate: I'm a PC who wants to be a Mac. What does that mean? Allow me to explain. I love Macs, I think their video software is better, I think they generally work faster and more efficiently and let's be honest, they look way more high-tech and awesome to be seen with in a coffee shop. However, my parents paid for my computer. And my Dad is a hardcore PC man. Partly because PC's are cheaper (which I'll admit is true) and partly because he's into computer programming which is one thing PC's are better for.

But I will admit, I love Google products a lot (Chrome = <3).

@Chelsea I hope the show is going well/went well (I don't know when it ends) and I agree we should start planning the summer.

i like turtles.....sea turtles that is...and sharks...da dum da dum...

hello girls!

So this week i went to the aquarium. And have rediscovered my love of the ocean. I also adopted a penguin named diane, through the adopt an animal at the aquarium. Her mate is named jack (hum along i know u know the song). i also have been on a nature kick again i've been watching planet earth and deep blue and another one that i forget what it is called.

my spring break isn't for another week! (lucky Arielle) so i have midterms next week and so much work to do.

I dont know if any of u are gamers but i recently bought bioshock 2 for Pc (yes i know i have a mac and i love macs but i have an old dell from 3 years ago that im currently installing it on as i type this) and i am so looking forward to playing it.

By the way girls Mac or PC?

Personally I love Macs and Apple products but I vote Google over Mac any day...i have an android phone and i use google chromo on my macbook which i know is evil nowadays.

I have started reading the book Garden Spells for this book club my friends at work are doing. Have any of you read them?

Also really funny story so if you dont know i have 2 fish tanks in my room one has 2 angelfish in it and the other has 2 tetras (one skirt and one glowfish) and a albino cory fish. So i went and got a balloon mollie to put in the tank from the fish store and ut the bag in the tank like your suppose to and waited about an hour. i came back and guess what...........My fish had BABIES! so i did some more research and apparently mollies can keep having babies for up to a month without needing a male mollie so needless to say she and the fry are in a breeding tank together. Crazy stuff!

@Chelsea i hope your show is going well now that life is getting better for you. Break A Leg!!

@Arielle hope you are having fun on Spring Break. And how excited are u for july and the Very potter musical sequel!!!!!! I am so excited! my friends and i are planning a trip that probley wont happen to see it at U of M in ann harbor in may.

@Tenley I hope your midterms went well and you have fun on spring break!

Unobsessed fan...

So how about My Chemical Romance lead singer had a kid...like a year ago! I have officially been kick out of the fan club because I just found out. I'm gonna give you a taste of the crazy.

I thought it was a sign that The Black Parade came out on my birthday (October 24). I would go through withdrawals for the music during school so as soon as I got home I would listen to all three CDs starts to finish. I cried when I found out they were coming to Georgia. Then I begged my parents 3 months ahead of time to let me go to this concert even though it was on an exam day and a school night.

Funny (not so funny) story

My mother asked me why none of my other friends were going. I told her because it was on a Tuesday. She then said "maybe you shouldn’t go" I spent the whole night crying only to find out in the morning that she was always going to let me go.
I saw them again that July 24. Then I saw them again for projekt revolution on another 24. I thought it was a sign. I have multiple copies of all the CDs…I don’t know how that happened. Another sign Ray Toro (lead guitar) really likes captain crunch so I thought it was a sign that there was captain crunch in our pantry so I had to take it to the concert.
I had t-shirt and buttons and obsession pages in all of my binders and now two years later I find out Gerard Way had a kid…. Last May on a 27 not a 24. That threw me off a bit. Well there is no real point to this story. It just blew my mind and I thought I should share.

Very tired again and very greatful that opening night is tomorrow. I Love the Les Mes cast and I'm going to be really sad when its over.
Ladies we should start planning our summer... Maybe themes, maybe videos and maybe meeting IRL. I am going to Florida in July maybe to go to universal. sooo...yeah. I think I'm going to go to bed now and do @replies in the morning

Mid-Terms

You know what sucks? Mid-term week. Yeah, its mid-term week here, so this is going to be quick (well, it should be, but then again I said the same thing last week).

Fortunately, I don't have a ton to talk about anyways. Aside from studying for multiple exams and being really excited for spring break next week, nothing is really happening.

I actually don't even know if there's a theme because I'm the first one to post this week, so I guess were theme-less?

Anyways, in the midst of studying I usually have one thing that I spend my time procrastinating with. This time around, although I'm embarrassed to admit it, I've been watching "Make it or Break it" obsessively (currently I'm re-watching old episodes while I finish my art portfolio). Have you guys seen it? If not, basically its a bunch of a elite gymnasts in training. Its a pretty simple plot line, and I often catch myself wondering why I love it so much, but I do.

*thinks of things to talk about* I've got nothing (hums the Chartjackers song) which is good because I should get back to work on my portfolio.

this is petty and stupid and very high school...

Hey ladies

Was there a theme this week? Whatever I’m having a bad day. No that’s a lie I’m having a bad night. And I can’t do this right now. I’ll tell you guys more at our skype chat if you want to hear it. But its not something I’m putting on the internet.

The Downside of Procrastination

This is going to be quick because I have to work on my English paper and its already pretty late. The theme this week is presents. You can tell us about the best present you've gotten, or the worst, or just a funny story about presents, it really doesn't matter.

I'm currently drawing a blank on every present I've ever received though (perhaps because I've been spending so much time working on my paper*). But I do remember a present I gave so I'm going to tell that story.

When I was in tenth grade one of my friends decided to have a white elephant party (I don't remember the reason). I pretty sure white elephant gifts are common knowledge, but in case their not, its basically just a stupid gift that no one would ever want to receive, but in this case they do as a joke (wrapping up garbage is a common present). But I decided to take it further. I took a Ken doll (yes I still owned one in tenth grade. Yes, I'm weird) and put him in Barbie clothes and then stuck him in Barbie box with the label; Cross-dresser Ken.

Usually I'd go into more detail when I tell stories, but I really have to work on my paper so I can't. But real quickly, some @replies:

@Chelsea I hope the shows going well, and good luck (I'll probably say that again next week FYI)!

@Carissa Luna is awesome. I wish I could rewatch Harry Potter (my inner thoughts: no, Tenley, no don't procrastinate anymore. You can't!).

Dang it, this was much longer than I was going for! I apparently can't do short. I can't do short blogs, I can't watch Youtube videos for a short period of time...

*That's a lie. I've been spending my time procrastinating, which is why I'm in such a panic now. Why do I do this to myself?

Once more with feeling and SNOW!!!! no more Snow!

hello girls!

i must apologize for my absence last week, i had tons of work and very little time to complete it.

i love the olympics my 2 favorite winter sports are hockey and curling. im so excited that the final mens hockey game is usa vs. (hopefully) canada. we beat them once and we can do it again. i watched usa vs finland today and it was a slaughter of the finland team in 5 minutes usa had gotten 6 goals 2 of which were in 15 secs. it was crazy!

so this weeks theme is when we were young. I was born in florida and lived there till i was 9. i miss it some times. the one childhood memory that my parents always like to bring up is the fact that when i was 3 i was at preschool and got put in timeout because i was a hyper little kid and found a crayon. um needless to say i did what most children do and stuck it up my nose. i had to be taken to the hospital to get it out. when i was 2 i was in the hospital for meningitis and it was really bad, i got pushed around in a wagon with my iv bag. my parents actual took pictures and i recently found them.

i dont know if any of you have ever see kids on leaches but let me tell u i was one of those kids. i was so hyper as a child and i would run off in department stores and hide in clothing racks and not make a sound i use to scare the crap out of my parents.

im currently watching harry potter and the sorcerers stone. they are all so cute and little! i think my favorite characters in HP are luna and remus lupin. im going to reread them when i finish the books im reading right now.

@arielle -I LOVE BTVS! i have been obsessed with it since 1998. Angel is pretty good too. Thats so cool that you got an iphone! i have the my touch from google and its awesome.

@chelsea - I  love the show veronica mars too!

Oh by the way girls ive had college canceled today because of a snowicane! lol we got more snow today and have more still on the way!

when you were young...

Hello ladies
I got home really late tonight. I had to do some last minute costume shopping after rehearsal. The musical is coming on great except I dont know how to act... and I dont think I come off prostitute-ish enough. I love musicals... anyways.
---
This is a funny theme cause I have to write a memior for an english project. Well when I was young I didnt do much but watch tv. I went to a crap private school in St. Thomas. Then my parents were like "this school is crap" and I went to a different private school where I had to repeat 2nd grade. Um... And I watched a lot of tv. I moved to Ga where I learned to read and watched less tv (but still a massive amount of tv)
List time (this is the part where the rap breaks down)
1)had a freak obsession with Anne of Green Gables
2)had a freak obsession with lord of the rings
3)watched massive amounts of tv
4)started doing homework instead of watching tv
5)Found Harry Potter
----
So the show opens March 11-14 and then prom is the following week. After that I have about a month til graduation! Time Flies when you're stressed.
I think I'm gonna go to sleep now

HAPPY WEDNESDAY
oh and Carissa asked when our Birthdays were. I'm October 24th...
yeah
Good night yal

OH one more thing
Have yal heard of the Broken Bells??? they have this song called the high road and it's my favorite so I thought I would share that..

When I was a Child...

Today's post is going to be fairly short because I still have a lot of homework to get done tonight.

First, the theme: when you were little.

I actually don't remember a whole lot from my childhood, but here's some of the ones I do:

1. When I was about 2 I was in my walker and my sister kept giving me some of her crackers (she was really into Barney and had just watched a show about sharing). But instead of eating them, I repeatedly chucked them at her head when she turned around. I don't know why...

2. When I was 4 my family went to Cedar Point (we lived in Michigan at the time and it was like an hour drive) and we visited the Berenstain Bears home (its not there anymore, but believe me it was awesome).

3. When I was 6-7 my sister (same one as before) and I were playing with a ball in basement and she tossed it to me, and I missed it. But being the clumsy person I am, I attempted to dive for it (a 6-7 year old version of a dive anyway) and fell into my Mom's old school sewing machine (one of those big ones with needles poking out everywhere) (it might be called something else technically, I don't remember). Fortunately, I came out of it with just a scar on my stomach.

@Chelsea So glad you had a good week! Also, Blair Waldorf is fabulous.
@Arielle Lucky, I want an iPhone!

Hey girls! As usually I'm writing from this from the library. Although today I don't have a lot of work to do, just an essay to write, but of course I left my prompt at home and my sister has my car so I'm stuck procrastinating until I can get home and get the prompt. Guess it'll be another sleepless night.

So this week's theme is the Olympics. Usually I love the Olympics. I love watching the figure skating and the skiing. But this year I haven't watched at all. To be honest, I haven't really wanted to watch because I've been so wrapped up in watching Buffy. I got turned onto Buffy and now I've watched nothing but. I'm a week and a half behind on other tv shows because I'm so addicted to Buffy right now! I guess this is like the story of my life...get addicted to a show, maraton watch until I have no more to watch, then watch and rewatch until the next obsession comes along. At least it's keeping me busy until Matt Smith's season starts.

Speaking of keeping busy until Matt Smith's season starts...Chelsea I loved Veronica Mars! I got into it a couple years ago after it was finished but it is such a great show! I love Krtisten Bell!

Oh I do have really excited new this week! So my phone contract was up last week and my parents came up to visit this weekend for family weekend so I got a new cell phone. But not just any phone...I got a freaking iPhone! I'm so excited! I've been waiting for this for two years. I love it so much already and I've barely even put anything on it yet.

I think we need to have a skype chat soon because we really need to work things out with this blog!

Carissa where were you? No Friday post =(

Okay well I'm going back to watching Buffy...I'm almost done with season 6.

Random Random

Hey Ladies

Okay to be perfectly honest I havent been watching the olympics at all. Please dont hate me. But if this makes any difference at all I'm going to be doing science olympiad this saturday. That makes no difference at all. I'm no where near prepared but I'm hoping it will be fun and maybe by some twisted miracle I could maybe win the bird event. I've been learning a lot about birds today. And ducks are my favorite thing about this event. I'm in love with the wood duck. Google it! It's the cutest most freaky looking thing in the world. I think it's cause it has red eyes... Okay I'm going to stop talking about ducks now.

@Carissa all that snow was ridiculous! I mean in GA we got about 3in (all three inches were gone about a day and a half later) And that was still more than I could handle. If (when) we meet irl we should have a phantom night complete with every poto movie you own.
@Arielle happy exam taking...that sounds wierd
@Tenley I love poe... When I was in like 9th grade I had a thing fot the tell tale heart. Thats my only poe story. I wish I was more entertaining

The Olympics and Poe

"Oh yeah, its Tuesday. I should blog." My thoughts about two minutes ago (very bad time estimate, it was probably less).

Not much is happening to be honest, I went to class, I came home, I talked to people online, I re-watched two and half months of Vlogbrother videos when I should have been doing homework, and of course I watched the Olympics.

Speaking of the Olympics (okay, I'll admit that whole last paragraph was just a pathetic way of bringing up the theme) that's this weeks theme! _____ <--- insert enthusiasm here (just kidding, I'm actually reasonably excited... well, no, but I'm not dreading it either). I usually only watch figure skating, but this year I've been watching Speed skating as well. Other than that I haven't really kept track of what's going on. I didn't even watch the opening ceremony. My parents watched it and I kind of heard it in the background, but I didn't watch it. Personally, I think the opening ceremonies are kind of boring. Specifically the part where all the teams walk in. In the past when I watched this part my first thought was: "we get it... a lot of countries, a lot of teams... what's your point?" And this is still pretty accurate.

Also, I really wish this happened last week because it would fit perfect with the nerdiness theme. But on Monday my English Professor assigned this major research paper on Edgar Allen Poe! Okay, not really about him, but about his stories... well, one of them (I haven't picked yet, I should be doing that now). Naturally me and my supreme nerdiness are really excited about it. Even I am calling myself a nerd right now.

@Chelsea Aww... *hugs* Boys are stupid... remember that, its a general life lesson. #facts

@Carissa Oh seez... that's a lot of snow!

@Arielle *sings* "We're off to see the Wizard..." I've had that stuck in my head since I read your post.

*flees to finally do some homework*

Happy Valentine's Day

Hey girls! I hope everyone is enjoying their Valentines Day if you are celebrating and if not I hope you had a good Sunday! Mine was once again spent in the library. So what else is new? It's been another long week for me! I thought I had another week between my exams, but the second one finished I had to start studying for the one coming up. At least when this one is over I have a few weeks of not living in the library. This is just going to be a quick one because it's been a long weekend of studying and I still have a lot to do!

So the theme is what makes me nerdy. Well, John describes nerd as "liking things" and over the years I've liked a lot of things.
My earliest obsession was Star Wars. I owned the original trilogy on VHS and watched it all the time. I used to get those little light sword things from the parades at Disney and pretend they were my light saber. I was even Darth Vader one year for Halloween and made my sister be Princess Lea.
I also had a bit of a Wizard of Oz obsession for a while. I used to have these little figurines of Dorothy, Lion, Tin Man, Scarcrow and Toto I used to play with.
Then there was Harry Potter. I don't really think that one needs much explanation.
I've always had an obsession with TV shows. The specific shows have changed throughout the years, but I'm a bit of a TV nerd. I follow way too many shows a week!
I've also always been a bit of a computer nerd. I was always the person my family would turn to with simple computer problems. In fact my mom still calls me up before she takes her computer into Apple to see if I can fix her problems.
I was a mathlete in high school.
I can solve a Rubik's cube in about 2 minutes and I can also solve a 4x4 Rubik's cube.
Then there is the Doctor Who nerd in me that grows stronger every day. Sometimes I amaze myself with the references I can pull to Doctor Who considering I've only been a fan of the show since the summer when I marathon watched the new series. I'm still working my way through the old series. I'll be starting the third Doctor next. I sort of skipped Second I didn't like Troughton much.
My current obsession is Buffy. I've been watching nothing but Buffy this past week. I'm really behind on all my other shows but Buffy is just so good!
Okay I think that is enough listing of how I am a nerd. I didn't include being a nerdfighter but that is sort of implied.

It is getting late and I still have a lot of homework to finish so I'm going to end this. I'll do the Olympics theme next week.

Snow Snow and umm more Snow

Hey girls it's friday!

so i dont think i have to say that i've been stranded in my house for the past 3 days. i managed to get out last night and go out to dinner with family and some friends. But i've basically been snowed in for quite some time now.

Hopefully i'll put up a video with a link right here

So the theme this week is What makes you a nerd. Besides the fact that my mom was a trekie and named me after the girl who played lieutenant Uhura. I have a very large collection of STAR WARS books, action figures, cups, movies, even a bootleg from the 80's of return of the jedi from the movie theatre. im a musical theatre geek, harry potter geek and have a love of Doctor who that is unbelievable.  Not to mention my very large( im up to 439) book collection. Where john green has the most books about conjoined twins i have the most books that are sequels to pride and prejudice. But i think the most shameful of all my nerdy obsessions is my love for phantom of the opera. I have been obsessed with POTO since i was 6 years old when i first heard the soundtrack. I own ever book ever written about the phantom and every movie ever made about it, including a bootleg copy of the Andrew lloyd webber musical. So when i heard that there was going to be a sequel to the ADW musical i got so excited and was jumping up and down.

@ Chelsea i hope everything is going ok. sorry guys can be really dumb sometimes.

@ Arielle i hope your exam went well! also frozen yogurt is way better than icecream anyday.

@ Tenley i hope the towing incident wasnt too painful. my college does the same thing and the students are the ones that suffer.

@ girls i think italy is a no go. so im planning on going to infinitus this summer but i will be driving most likely. hopefully ill see you girls there!

Next weeks theme is the olympics since it starts tonight!!!

A very very sad wednesday

So I'm mildly brokenhearted. I lost a friend today and prom date and I'm sad. I'm gonna do this post in lists

1) I dont like being ditched for a bad reason and I dont like being an after thought (I wasnt even an after thought because he didnt think about me)
2) I was so pathetic this week that I put off all of my homework til tonight and I still havent started
3) I'm too big of a geek to have drama like this
4) I mean come on! I like Harry Potter and 919 year old space men
5) I wish I knew how old doctor who really is
6) thinking I'm going to reread harry potter again
7) I remember being really happy when I was reading Harry potter.
8) Have a paper to write about Rwanda and the genocide
9) I cry when I have to do this stuff
10) So on top of my crap mood I'm going to be crying because of an assignment.

yal I'm so sorry I'm so self involved lately... It will be better when I move to Maryland

Thursday morning update --- he called me and said sorry. (in more words than that and in a really nice way)

Nerdy

You know your a nerd when; you keep track of the days based on which fiveawesomegirl posts a video. Which is why I'm a little disappointed that Lauren hasn't posted yet... fortunately Wheezywaiter has started "Ty Tuesday" (Thanks, Wheezywaiter even though there's no way your reading this!).

In addition, I'm also incredibly nerdy about memorizing things. Everything from quotes in books to things John and Hank say in their videos (I'm not stalker... I just follow them for their own safety. lol).

To put it simply, I'm a literature nerd with a little bit of art and gamer nerd mixed in.

But anyways girls, I'm back home. I actually kind of like it. I mean, I still commute to classes so I still see my friends all the time. Its basically the same, except I have my own room. But since I'm all settled in again I've returned to the other issue that has been haunting my life: money. I need some. I literally just applied to some jobs before writing this so um, fingers crossed.

In worse news, my car was towed today. *throws tantrum* Here's the deal. When I found out I was going to have to commute I went to the parking services office to ask if I needed a different parking pass for my car. And they distinctly said no. So I left and moved off campus and all was good. Until today when they towed my car because apparently the parking services office likes to lie to people... or maybe just me. *throws another tantrum* Okay, I'm better now. Kind of...

@ladies We should write a book, we're clearly the best authors around. And we should totally have a Skype chat soon. Also, my birthday is September 12th.

@Chelsea I second that. After the towing incident I came home and read these and my mood almost instantly improved.

@Carissa I'm actually kind of glad that your not to far into the 100 book challenge because it means I'm not the only one. I'm on four.

@Arielle I hope your Biology exam went well.

Sunday is a nerd

Once again I'm left without a theme, but that is okay because I really don't have a lot of time to blog today. I have my first exam for Biology tomorrow which is worth 25% of my grade for the class. The exam is also only 25 questions so there really is no room to screw it up! My sister and I are in the same class and we are supposed to be studying together this weekend but she keeps coming up with excuses not to study with me. Hopefully she'll finally come over to study with me later when she is done volunteering at the local hospital because this is the type of class you can study all you want from the book and notes but until you have someone to talk it out with and apply the concepts you'll never do well. In the mean time I've just been relating certain concepts we learn to Doctor Who which has worked out nicely (yeah I've taken my nerdiness to the extreme lol).

So that epic story was...interesting. The Nerdettes take on the Giant Squid of Anger!

@Tenley: You have probably moved home by now. I hope the move went well!

@Chelsea: Keep up that Jillian Michaels! I hope it is going well.

@Carissa: Sorry I never responded to your skype message. It's just with this exam I've been nonstop studying and haven't been on skype. I probably shouldn't even be on the internet at all because I keep procrastinating with tumblr, twitter and the HHH livestream, but what is life without procrastination?

Also my birthday is June 26. Which is not going to be a great day for me this year because I'll be stuck in a practice MCAT exam all day. I'm also going to be stuck at school because I'm taking classes this summer and I only know of very few people who will be up here this summer. But less than a month later will be Infinitus which I am going to drive down for the weekend to see AVPM live and go to the ball as long as I don't have an exam that Monday. And even so I will prepare as far in advance for the exam as I can because I really want to go to Infinitus and meet certain people IRL =D

Time for me to get back to studying. I will be on skype again once this exam is over so we can talk.
Have a great week girls!

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

Hey girls!

So yes it's crazy snowing right now so some of my friends are coming over tomorrow to go SLEDDING!!
Now i'm not a big fan of snow actually im not a fan at all. But when there is nothing much else to do im all for it.

Im 2 for 100 in the 100 books in 2010 so far. im on my third as of about an hour ago. Also as a side note i am quite excited for there to be only 4 months till Eclispe comes out even though i dont like edward cullen all that much. But so much more excited for Alice next month!!! im reading the book version of the movie tonight just for the hell of it.

I hope everyone got the skype message i sent around that hopefully we can all get together on skype sometime this weekend.

Did anyone catch Fringe this week I so called it!!!

oh girls i was so hoping that amelia would post yesterday so that i wouldn't have to finish the story completely because im a horrible theme writer. The OH LOOK SHINY plays a big part in it. But here goes...

Then out of nowhere Carissa appeared and beat the squid to death with her giant copy of The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. It was then that the girls noticed that two of their beloved members had gone missing... Apparently the giant squid had attacked them. Then decied then and there to go on a search that would lead them around the world in 79 days (cuz we are just that awesome) in search of the missing members. They hired me to be their narrator and Willie to be the capitan and sailed off in to the horizon. But unfortunately is was all a dream. But no worries because i found 10 dollars in the dead squid's corduroys pocket.

Yeah.....um i apologize for that...ummm yeah.....

Anyway Chelsea forgot to mention what next weeks theme is so hopefully she will read this and skype everyone it.

Oh and the answer for last weeks thing about the real school that holden's school is based off is Valley Forge Military Academy, JD Salinger  went there!! I've only gone there for dances in highschool and we had choir with their choir a few times.

Question of the day: When is everyone's birthdays??

Night girls!

Epic story fail...

Okay So I have a feeling this isnt going to go well... here goes

...a giant decepticon!!!! This was no ordinary decepticon. This Decepticon secretly wanted to be a nerd fighter. So he went into battle agianst the beast-squid-thing. With in seconds the Giant Squid had been tamed... because Archie (the decepticon) was super badass. Archie got down to his knees to speak to Tenley and Arielle and to their surprise Chelsea was sitting on his back. Then suddenly she was knocked off of his back by and evil giant giant squid...
-----

that was crap! I'm sorry yal but I just got home... sort of. I didnt have rehearsal today so I came home sort of early then I went to my friends house to study for a quiz (given by a decepticon math teacher) tomorrow. I have a feeling I'm not going to do well without a lot more studying so I have to get off the internet like now.

@ladies... Getting home and reading these blogs is like a cookie at the end of the day.

Haiti, Henry, Snow and Stories!

So I listening to Hank on the Helping Haiti Heal livestream and then I remembered, its Tuesday. Thus, I am now blogging. Speaking of the livestream, were any of you watching when John showed Henry on it? I wasn't... I had math class, but I saw pictures and videos soon after and oh my god he's adorable.

Anyways, not much is going on here, like I said last week I'm moving back to my house soon. Specifically on Friday. Aside from that this weekend we got a massive snow storm, well massive for Virginia, but its really just like a foot and a half of snow with a lot of ice. But really nothing exciting is happening, I suppose I'll just move on to the @ replies.

@Chelsea Good luck with your Jillian Michaels workout thing, I hope its going well.

@Carissa I have seen the pictures of the Hogwarts Theme park and they look so awesome! And don't worry about the 100 book challenge, you still have lot's of time to catch up.

@Arielle Venti coffee is never a bad idea. Speaking of, now I want coffee. Oh and, yeah, I know less about Geometry than I know about Dr. Who. lol

Epic Story (Continued from Sunday)
...Tenley running toward her with, as Maureen Johnson would say, flailing muppet arms. Oh wait, Maureen was saying that because I, Maureen Johnson am standing less than ten feet away narrating the whole account. Anyways, after the innitial encounter Arielle and Tenley proceeded to walk around the top deck in search of the other girls... or at the very least something vaguely entertaining to do. When it happened, standing in front of them was none other than John Green himself, but he didn't seem like himself. They brushed it off at first by thinking that they never really knew him, only through the internet and kept walking closer. This was their mistake. Because the man in question was not John Green, nor was a Nerdfighter of any kind, he... or it, was a giant squid of anger disguised as John! Before either of the girls could do anything they felt a breeze and then all of a sudden the Squid was tackled by...

...

Wow... that was strangely difficult. Why did I pick this theme? idk. Good luck finishing that story girl's.

Sunday can't think of a good title

I keep getting distracted from this. I think the venti coffee was a bad idea because now I have too much caffeine in me to concentrate! I don't really have much to talk about this week. Still the most exciting news in my life is the possibility of studying abroad in London. I found a program now it is just a matter of how much my scholarship is going to cover and how much I am going to have to pay because it is so freakin expensive!

I'll start with the replies

@Tenley: SOH-CAH-TOA is not a Doctor Who reference...it is a geometry reference because I was doing my physics hw at the time I blogged last week. SOH stands for sine = opposite/hypotenuse CAH is cosine = adjacent/hypotenuse and TOA is tangent = opposite/adjacent...math nerd
Also good luck on transferring. I hope you enjoy the school you are switching to a lot more! One of my friends recently transfered from a small school to BU and she is a lot happier so hopefully you will be too!

@Chelsea: Good luck with Jillian Michaels! I can never bring myself to follow a steady exercise routine. I don't have the will power. My most consistent exercise routine is Quidditch practice once a week XD

@Carissa: Florence is one of my favourite European cities (not that I've really been to that many). I'm sure you will love it there if you end up going to Italy. It is such a beautiful city with so much culture!

@everyone else: WHERE ARE YOU GIRLS? I miss having everyone around!

Okay so apparently the theme is epic story week and is supposed to start with me, but I don't really understand why we are starting with me. Wouldn't it make more sense to start each theme week with the person who chooses the theme? That way we don't have to worry about notifying me before Sunday what the theme is to start it off we can just mention it in our blog for the week. Maybe we should skype soon and figure this all out because we seem to not be so good at this theme thing. maybe we should create a schedule for a few months of themes so that way we don't get stuck without a theme. Anyway on to the epic story which I am having a lot of trouble starting and have deleted what I've written like 10 times already so sorry if it sucks.

Epic Story:

The nerdfighters had finally done it! They had raised enough money to buy a small island of their own. It was a huge day in Nerdfighter history! Nerdfighters from all around the world were planning summer cruises to take them to the island to celebrate. The Nerdettes were no exception! They made specific plans to make sure all of them were aboard the same ship. This would be the first time they meet each other IRL after years of collab vlogging and blogging together. It was going to be the most epic summer!

The ship was scheduled to set sail at noon. Arielle boarded the ship around 11:30 giving her half an hour to get settled into her cabin and explore the ship before setting said. She didn't know what time the other girls were boarding, but hoped to run into them soon. She dropped off her bags in her cabin then headed up to the upper deck to see if there was anything going on. The top deck was already crowded full of excited nerdfighters. Arielle was searching the crowd for a familar face when she heard a familiar voice call her name from behind. She turned around to find...

"That's the nice thing about carousels, they always play the same songs"

hello girls!

To clear up the confusion about last week it was amelia monday's turn but then we realized that either she isn't participating or didn't get the switch memo. So next weeks theme starting with Arielle on sunday is.......epic story week as chosen by Tenley.

So since there was no theme (by the way if anyone talks to amelia let her know about the change again) im just going to talk about anything.

Im a month down in the 100 books in 2010 and i still haven't finished reading my first book, ive been so bogged down with course work that i haven't had anytime to really read much. But on the good side while studying i've had background movies going and its been a harry potter week for me. (i really want to go reread them when im done this current book. Speaking of which have any of you seen the released pictures of Hogwarts in orlando! HOLY CRAP!! I want to go to there!!

What do you all think of the ipad?? Personally i thinks it's cool but defiantly not worth $599 i have an itouch and its basically the same exact thing.

Chelsea asked us what our favorite musical is and i pick hands down Phantom of the opera! Ive been in love with it since i was little and i have seen it 4 times!! i cant wait till the sequel comes to nyc i will be there opening week lol.

By the way i believe we all know that J.D. Salinger the author of Catcher in the Rye past away yesterday. But i learned something new about him yesterday. My dad went to the school that holden's school was based off of. I think thats really cool! 100 points if you can guess what school without looking it up. I personally loved catcher in the rye what was your opinion of it?

@ Chelsea dont forget to say what next weeks blog theme in skype by next friday. I love jillian michaels i have her wii game and its a killer.

@Arielle im not going to infinus but im hopefully going to leaky con 2011. The italy trip is florence but we can go basically anywhere in italy on the weekends. oh and skype me your address.

@Tenley Good luck with your new school! i went through the whole transferring school and living at home for college too.

@Amelia thursday...WHERE ARE YOU??

waiting for one more day... and Theme?

Well no theme? Okay I have a story. Yesterday Stephanie (favorite person on the planet) and I went to the vending machines before band practice and there was this girl there that couldnt get her dollar to work. so this is what happened...
Me: darling here (takes a dollar from my purse and puts it in the machine). What did you want?
Random girl: Gobstoppers (or something like that)
Me: (put the numbers in. the candy falls and I hand it to her)

At this point I'm thinking she's going to hand me the the dollar that didnt work.... I'm not that lucky.
Random girl: Thank you ( she smiles then walks away)
The way she was smiling when she left was awful. It was like she was saying "I did just steal your dollar! Thanks!!!!"

Stephanie and I just stand there like "did that just happen?"
I guess I get a gold star for being nice and she gets NOTHING because that was just rude!

Today every time something not so great would happen I would smile and say  "I did just steal your dollar" Its going to take me a minute to get over that one.
So has this ever happened to you guys? This really put me off being nice to people at vending machines.
----
I've been doing the Jillian Michaels workout thing. Its a 30 day program and I'm on day 6. When I got the video I thought it said 30 shed but no its the 30 day SHRED!!!! With an R!!!!
-----
I'm excited for the musical! The music is beautiful. One more day, the peoples song and the dock(the one where I'm a slut) are my favorites. Favorite musical? I think that should be the theme for this round. Musical...and why they are awesome. Next week Thursday can choose.
---
@Tenley Happy job hunting. I hope you find one soon and a college that is the right fit for you. From what I've heard you get the warm and tinglies when you found the right college..and an angel get their wings

@Carissa I always wanted to be Samantha Brown... I'm a little less adventurous I guess. I love the travel channel. Why dont you think italy might happen?

@Arielle a whole semester most def pwns a week!!! I started spending all my money on headbands so when I went to the doctor who store link i was dying inside cause i couldnt get anything.

I think thats about it.

Tuesday... Except Its Actually Wednesday

So... I just realized it was 1:36 AM on Wednesday. Opps... But I'm still gonna write a *fairly quick* blog.

Not much has been going on, lately my life has just been school and trying to find a job. So far I've been unsuccessful in the later of these two, but wish me luck as I prowl the streets in search of employment... and by extension, money.

The one thing that is happening that I should mention is I'm officially going to be commuting to school as of like next week. Its a big decision and in the end I made it for two main reasons:

1. Although I like the independence of being away from home the school I'm currently at is way to conservative for my liking (I will be transferring soon). Its a Christian school, so it was expected to a point, but being a strong Liberal Christian my views are constantly clashing with their's and off campus I can attend my classes without any of the... well, crap.

2. Money. My family isn't the worst off (in fact compared to some we're doing pretty well), but we still don't have money to spend unnecessarily. And so, since we live in the same town as the school its possible to commute and a lot cheaper.

But other than that not much is happening...

Except I still don't know what happened to Amelia (Monday). Did she never get the memo about switching to blogs?

@Chelsea Asian studies are fun... never taken a class, but it sounds cool. Oh and, hi Ed!

@Carissa Working for the travel channel would be awesome. And I totally understand about not having enough funds. But given the choice, Italy would be WAY better than Vidcon.

@Arielle Your Trock songs are amazing... and they also make me want to find more time to catch up on Dr. Who. SOH-CAH-TOA, is a catchy band name (I'm guessing its relevant to the show, but I'm not there yet).

Okay, well its almost 2AM now and I have classes tomorrow, plus more job hunting so I'm going to end this here.

Sunday is library day...

...seriously though it is 6:15 right now and I've been in the library since noon.  I still have a ton of work to get done but had to take a break to blog.

So I was hoping Carissa was picking the next theme so I would have a theme to talk about today.  I guess since that didn't happen I will just continue on with the travel theme because I don't want to hog the theme picking position.

So a lot has changed in a week.  I started planning out my London trip but google mapping all the places I want to go and saving them into a map so I can see it all in one place.  I had a lot of fun street viewing all the hotspots like the London Eye and Big Ben.  I even found the TARDIS parked outside of Earl Court's Tube Station (see right).  But I started to realise that I can't possibly do everything I want to do in a week!  I'd want to take a day trip to Cardiff and see the capital of Wales (and try and track down Matt Smith).  I'd want to go up to Birmingham for a couple days and stay with my friends who all have a flat up there.  I'd want to go to Scotland and do Scottish things.  I don't even really know much about Scotland expect that David Tennant is from there.  I'd also want to go to Ireland because I'd be right there.  It seems stupid to pay all that money to go to the UK to just see London!  I'm a girl who loves to travel, but when I travel I want to do it right!  I still regret backing out of a Mediterranean cruise I had been looking forward to for so long to stay in Israel for my Passover Break when I was there!  From the first month I was there I decided I wanted to go to Greece for that break and then things got complicated.

But anyway...back to London. So yeah, at around 2 am Wednesday or Thursday night, I decided I am going to look into possibly studying abroad in London for a semester.  I already found a university in the heart of London that offers both the science classes and Jewish Studies classes I need for my two majors.  Now I just need to find out specifics about the program and transferring credits and cost and all those details so I'm going to a preliminary meeting on Thursday.  I'm excited!  A semester pwns a week any day so finger's crossed this works out!

Okay now here's the part where I respond to you all.  I actually hand wrote all this out while reading your blogs from the week so I wouldn't forget anything.

@Tenley - No VidCon for me =( But I am trying to drive down to Infinitus for a day or two.  I'll be in school this summer which is why I can't go to VidCon or all of Infinitus.  So if anyone is going to be at Infinitus I'll hopefully be there Saturday/Sunday and maybe some Friday but it would depend on my classes.  I have two friends going who are trying to stay in the same room so I'm just planning on crashing with them.  Oh but speaking of Harry Potter conferences...I will be at LeakyCon!  I will try any and every which way to be there even if it means coordinating my schedule that summer around those dates!  LeakyCon is where I am planning to meet all of CAT-I-TUDE* IRL so we can all meet IRL there too if you guys are there =D

@Chelsea - YES THERE IS A DOCTOR WHO STORE!!!! There was an ad for it in DWM (Doctor Who Magazine) so when I was doing my London research I google map'd it.  It's about half an hour outside the center of London.  They also have an online shop.  I found it on street view too =D  It looks so awesome!

Also, one of my friends just got back from a trip to Thailand, Cambodia and somewhere else in Southeast Asia I don't remember, but she absolutely loved it!  I have another friend trying to study abroad somewhere in that area next year.  I'm so jealous of them!

@Carissa - Italy is awesome! I hope you get to go!  I don't remember if you've said where in Italy you would be going, but I absolutely loved Florence it is so pretty there!  And Rome and Venice are great too!  I actually spent my 17th birthday trapped inside St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome because the president of the Philippines was visiting the pope and they would let anyone out of the cathedral until all the cardinals walked through then finally the president of the Philippines.  I'd never seen so many Asian tourists in one place! lol

Oh also, I don't have a P.O. Box, but I do have an address so if you even wanted to send me anything just ask me for it.  For obvious reasons I'm not posting it here.  I've always been meaning to send all of you guys and all of CAT-I-TUDE letters and I wrote about four before I stopped.  I should pick those up again!

This has been quite a long blog.  I didn't realise I had so much to say!  I kind of like blogging.  I should pick up my personal blog again.  But chances are that will happen for like a week then I'll get too busy or forgot or get lazy like I have in the past so I'll just stick to this.

And if you haven't already seen, I posted two videos recently.  Both are trock songs I've written.  I've been in a song writing mood lately.  I'm thinking about starting a new youtube channel as a music channel and take my songs off my personal channel.  I'm trying to come up with a good name for the channel so I'm open to suggestions if you have any.  I randomly had the idea yesterday that SOH-CAH-TOA would be a good band name...I think I've been doing too much triangle stuff in physics lol but I if I'm picking a name for a music channel for myself it has to be nerdy so it can encompass trock, wrock, and nerdfighter related music.  I know I don't have the greatest voice, but I really enjoy making music and sharing it.  Below are links to my two new songs and to a cover done of a song I did a little while ago.

Totally Fucked (a trock parody of the Spring Awakening song)
Ode to Ten (a trock parody of Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright)
Bad Wolf Bay by BLUEBOXX (a cover of my song Doomsday)

Okay I've successfully killed an hour in the library so I think it is time to get back to work so I'm not here all night.

*CAT-I-TUDE is the name of a skype chat I have with a bunch of nerdfighters.  We are one of many nerdfighter cliques out there.  There are about 15-20 of us in it.  I'm sure some of you probably know a couple people in our group.  We've actually become quite well known in the nerdfighter community even if most people don't know us by name but John has even referred to us as "the group" =D

Travel? Yes please

Hey ladies!
I’m so jealous!!!! I want to go back to London and Italy. This is stupid but I want to go to Scotland to find someone as adorable as David Tennant. Or I would go to Montreal. I have this little running joke that I want to go to Canada, be a waitress, and stalk Rufus Wainwright on the weekends.

All fangirling aside I really would love to go to Southeast Asia. I remember never really thinking about the other side of the world. Then I took this Asian studies class and it really opened up the other side of the map for me. I really want to travel. Right now I feel awful because my whole life is school, my friends and prom. The world is so much bigger than that. (That’s good I should have put that in my diversity easy) I want to hug some Cambodians. That whole Pol-Pot thing freaked me out so much that its one of my life goals to hug as many Cambodians as possible. I’m actually planning a major trip to the Galapagos Islands (inspired by my Latin American studies class.) Oh and I would love to go to Brazil!

Fun fact about Brazil

Brasilia was built up to be shaped like an air plane.

@Tenley you have it right. I want to go everywhere… Ed says hi.

@Carissa Italy is just like a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie. There are cute guys on mopeds everywhere. Have you read Eat Pray Love? The Eat part is all about Italy and food. It’s fantastic.

@Arielle There’s a proper Doctor who store???? OMG!!!!

@ Amelia Yay puppies!

Happy Wednesday

Lots of love

Traveling Tuesday

Well, I'm back at school. I didn't sound very excited about that, I need to more excited. I'M FINALLY BACK AT SCHOOL! (does that count as traveling? No... okay, didn't think so). Much better... Seriously, I don't remember the last time I was this excited for school. I mean I've always been a nerd when it comes to school, but never this nerdy about it. Probably because I have a lot of really awesome art classes this semester (my major is Interior Design). The only downside of all the art classes is all the supplies I had to buy the other day. Lot's of money, specifically, lot's of money that I was trying to save for Vidcon.

Speaking of Vidcon, let's talk about it, because the theme is travel and the only place I'm planning* on traveling in the near future is to Vidcon. I am so excited about it. I will definatly be there assuming I can get the money in time. I'll I have to do is find a job... stupid economy.

Are any of you planning on being there? Because it would be freaking awesome to meet all of you person. Well, actually it be awesome to meet you all in person anywhere, not just at Vidcon.

But yeah, that's really the only place I'm planning on traveling to in the near future. Long term, I'd like to go... everywhere. Specifically, I want to visit Venice, Amsterdam, Brazil, somewhere-in-Australia-that-I-haven't-decided-yet and London. Those I think are the major ones... when I'll actually visit them, no idea. Hopefully soon, but who knows?

@Arielle Lucky! I wanna go England! But I've decided since I can't (at least not yet) that you have to have fun for me. Okay? Good. lol

@Amelia Aww... I want a puppy (why I am I responding to everyone like that? Apparently I'm really jealous)! Just like Arielle as to have fun for me, you have to enjoy your puppy for me. lol

@Chelsea That essay is awesome, it makes me wish I was a Nerdfighter back when I had to apply to colleges so I could have written something like that.

Sunday picks a theme: Travel

So I finally remembered it was Sunday without being reminded to blog =D This is a first.

Carissa, I LOVE tevana teas too!  I discovered the store over break and bought some tea they had for sample that was really good and drink it every day now!  I don't remember what it is called.  It is a combination of two different chais.

So nothing much going on here really.  We had one of our best Quidditch practices this past week!  It was freezing but so much fun!  We are finally starting to get to know each other and getting comfortable enough with each other to not be afraid to tackle and stuff.  Our scrimmages are getting really competitive and I think we will actually have a pretty good team if we can find other teams to play against =D

I started rewatching Lost yesterday.  There are six or seven nerdfighters watching it for the first time so I joined with them.  Lost has changed so much from the first season it's nice to rewatch the beginning.  It's also fun to see people's reactions to finding out things for the first time because Lost will answer one question for every 500 it poses!

I guess I was supposed to pick a theme for this week.  I didn't really have time to think about it before posting this so I'm just going to think of something now.  Okay so this is kind of relevant to what I was going to talk about any way so theme for this week is travel.  Talk about a place you want to go, a place you've been and love, anything about travel okay?  Good.  Theme picked.

So I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I've been thinking about going to London for Spring Break.  My friend Bradley has been begging me to come visit for years but I've never been able to find a good time, plus it is expensive.  He has been begging me a lot lately and I realized I don't really have plans for Spring Break so we are trying to make it happen.  I can find flights for under $700 which isn't bad considering I don't have to pay for hotel or anything because I'd be staying at his house.

I've never been to London but I've always wanted to go!  For as long as I can remember there have always been two places on my top list to travel to.  The first is Israel, the second is London.  And you all know I've been to Israel multiple times now.

I'm a bit of an Anglophile so I'm really excited about possible going to London.  I also found out that one of my nerdfighter friends, Abby (kaireky), will be in London at the same time with her mom and aunt so we could potentially meet IRL in London which would be awesome and then we could go to the Doctor Who store together =D

I really hope my London trip works out because I'd love to see London and take a trip up to Birmingham to visit some friends in uni there and also to see Bradley who is the Brit i was the closest with on my program and the only one not to come visit the US since so it's been almost three years since I've seen him.

Well, I should go now.  I'm going out tonight with my sorority family then having a sleep over at one of my little's dorm rooms because her roomie is out of town.

Until next week,
Arielle

Friday night dance party

Oh girls it has been a very long week but a good one.

  • I've recently become hooked on the show Fringe. its so good!!
  • I have become addicted to Teavana teas they are so good too!
  • I found a comic that i love called The Phoenix Requiem. Its only second to The Dreamer that is my all time favorite online comic.

Hopefully Arielle will pick a theme on sunday so we all can have alot more to write about lol.

I watched Food, Inc. last saturday. It's a documentary about the food industry's detrimental effects on our health and environment. The film is by director Robert Kenner. It's an in-depth introduction to the horrors behind why a hamburger costs less than a bag of carrots. Its really sad to see how basically 4 companies own the entire meat market in the USA. Few people would let cameras in to see the conditions the animals are kept in, but one woman showed her chicken coop. You also see "tame" footage of slaughterhouses (compared to the stuff you might see on a PETA website). You hear about the dangers of E. Coli in the food supply - it's not a matter of "if" but "when". You can probably google E. Coli outbreaks and there's something in the news about it somewhere. If i learned anything from this film it is to READ LABELS!

I had my first week of classes this week and it was crazy. My italian teacher is hilarious. I can't wait for my next class.

I'm hopefully going to see avatar or sherlock holmes this weekend. Plus i've started taking my dog to the local dog park.

Im going back to watching season 1 of fringe and reading my web comics.

Night girls!

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Why is it I always have trouble signing into this thing? I mean you think it wouldn't be to hard and then I spend like ten minutes looking. I'm really pathetic sometimes girls.

Anyways in other news. I'm getting a new puppy! She's a little pure white miniture schnauzer and she is the cutest little thing. She looks just like a polar bear puppy. We get her some time next week when she's on solid food. I am so excited about it! Her name is going to be mochi.

School is a horror with exams starting next week and I rather it not exsist.

I really don't have much to talk about really. Themes is an excelent idea!

I have to get back to my creative writing story so I think i'll end this here. Sorry my life hasn't been anything interesting

wednesday has 87 ish days to go

Rough essay for maryland

I have been very influenced by the nerdfighter community. This sounds silly but ever since I saw four minutes of John Green talking about the Project for Awesome on YouTube I was hooked. The Project for awesome is an annual YouTube event where regular people make videos promoting their favorite charities and try to make them the most watched videos for days. From the first time I came in contact with this community I have been more encouraged to do really awesome things like start a 50 book challenge, learn to knit, and further pursue my fall challenge of collecting over 500 lids for Susan G Komen for a Cure.

John and Hank Green, the men who started this community as just a fun way to keep in touch, have taken the word nerd from a social slur to a statement of pride. Saying "I'm a nerd" is now just another way to say I am passionate about something.

I've noticed that in my generation it is cool not to care about things and that it is geeky to get excited about things. Before joining this community I found myself holding back, not laughing when I thought something was funny, and not sharing large parts of myself. Now I feel okay with saying something like "I love Harry Potter enough to dress up for the book release" or "I care about what is happening in Israel"

Being a nerdfighter is about taking what you know how to do and using it to better the people around you. “A lot of life is about doing things that don’t suck with people who don’t suck.”- Hank Green

Its a work in progress... I wrote it about a month and change ago and the deadline for my application is most definately friday. why do i do this to myself? Its not like I havent been working on this forever but it still doesnt read the write way. Tuesday and that Hideous Creature Called Boredom

Its Tuesday... six girls a blogging... I feel completely ridiculous. lol Fiveawesomegirls references? Anyone... anyone? No... okay, moving on.

There hasn't been a whole lot going on lately because the semester doesn't start till the 18th (I think I said that last time) and I'm just chilling around the house. Fortunately, this time off as giving me a chance to catch up on some reading, and start watching Dr. Who. Okay, I've only actually watched the first episode of season 1 so far, but its a start. Obviously I haven't seen much yet, but so far I like it. Oh and Carissa, thanks for sending me the links to the many places I can watch the old episodes.

As I said I've also been reading a lot, I started by rereading Harry Potter for the... well, I've lost count at this point so we'll just go with its a big number. Then I went to the library and checked out "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman. I've been meaning to read it for awhile, but haven't had a chance. I'm not completely done with it, but so far I like it.

Themes. There's been talk of having theme weeks here and I think it is an excellent idea. I also think we should start doing them as soon as possible and not put them off to long. Here's my suggestion:

We rotate through the week (Sunday - Friday) and each of us picks a theme for a week. So for this next week Arielle (Sunday) would pick the first theme and then in the Sevengirlsablogging Skype chat she can leave a message telling everyone what the theme is. Then everyone else would check Skype at some point before their post has to go up and do the theme. Then the Saturday (possibly Sunday morning, but try for saturday so Arielle has as much time as possible) after that Amelia (Monday) will pick a theme for that week. Once again we all do it and the system continues.

Does this make sense? Does it sound like a good idea? If you have ideas or concerns we should talk about them via Skype so we can get the themes up and running next week.

...

@Chelsea: I'm sorry about AP Chem... *hugs* Try to be positive about your advanced breathing class, you'll get an easy A, and when it comes down to it colleges look at your grades, not your courses (because every school has a different system to measure the difficulty of their classes, so colleges have no way of standardizing how advanced a class should be in order for a student to gain acceptance).

@Amelia (Thursday): Have fun doing your massive amounts of homework! lol Seriously though, I'm sorry your so busy, and I hope you manage to find time to blog.

@Carissa: Wow... a 210 dollar book, that sucks. But Italian should be fun. Also, I'm doing the 50 book challenge, I'm only my second book right now though. Good luck with the 100 book challenge!

@Arielle: Aww... sorry you didn't get to go to Sea World. Oh, and I'm glad you like the Guild.

@Amelia (Monday): Where are you? *sad face*

Anyways, I hope you all have wonderful weeks filled of fun and blogging. Hopefully next week I'll have more stuff to talk about (since I'll be back in my dorm by then).

Until next week,

Sunday forgot again...

Big thanks to Carissa for skyping me and making me remember I had to blog.  I need to get into a routine!

So today has been on big fat lazy day for me!  I was supposed to go to Sea World today, but I found out last night something went wrong when I signed up and my name wasn't on the list so they never bought my ticket =( but it's okay because it was apparently really cold and all the rides were closed because it has to be warmer than 50ยบ to open the rides.  Basically all I've been doing all day is go on tumblr, go on TARDISAdventures (a forum created by one of my tumblr friends for Doctor Who), watch two episodes of Torchwood with my friend Esther (@crazycrayon), straighten my hair, snack, and attempt and fail to get my homework done.

@tenley: love the guild!  I haven't watched it in a while though.  Sara (cleverestwitch, the ning master) got me into it last year

@chelsea:  Thank you so much for the scarf!  I wear it all the time!  I acutally wore it to quidditch and one of my friends goes "I thought you were all about the silver and green".  I might be a Slytherin but I still have a large amount of Gryffindor in me too.

and to answer your question about End of Time.  I loved the episodes!  RTD did a great job at wrapping up his time with Doctor Who as well as David Tennant's time as the Tenth Doctor.  Other than Mickey/Martha I loved the end.  Also John Simm (Master) was so so so good in the episodes!  I'm sad we only got to see him a few times on the show.  Oh and Timothy Dalton!  Bond as Rassilon WOW! lol

I am really looking forward to the new season of Doctor Who.  From what I've been seeing I think Matt Smith is going to do an excellent job!  He'll be no DT, but I don't think anyone will every be able to match his enthusiasm for the role since he is one of the biggest fanboys of the show EVER!

Okay enough about Doctor Who.  I could go on about it forever but we can continue the talk in the TARDISAdventures forum if you all want to join it.

I agree with Carissa I think we should have some sort of theme weeks because I too find myself struggling to think of things to talk about.

Also, I started watching True Blood.  Anyone watch it?

Well I really should go do that homework I've been putting off all day so this is all for today.  See you all again next week =D

TGIF!!

Hello Girls,

It's been a long week but I'm so glad that it is almost over. I go back to college next monday and I can not wait to start my italian class. I am SO excited!!!!
My lovely italian teacher sent me an email the other day to tell everyone in the class that our book would cost $210!!!! But since he is such an awesome person he has made his own textbook and we do not need to buy the other one!! YAHOOOOOO!! win kitty for saving money!

I dont know if anyone else is participating but i'm participating in 50 books in 2010 but im upping it to 100 because i  did 50 books way to easily last year.  With that in mind does anyone have any good books that they think i should read??

I very excited today because i met with my study abroad teacher and she gave me a whole bunch of information on the semester. I'm going to Italy!!! In just under 5 months!! I'm Super Excited today!!!

I think we need themes or something because this is my second time blogging and already im running out of things to say lol. so starting next blog i'll probley have a theme to my blogs or else mine ill be very boring.

91 days of High School for Wednesday

Hey ladies

Soooo... I'm Chelsea Rodriguez. I'm a senior in High School (91 days left). I'm bad at this intro stuff so I'm just going to list random facts.

I love...
Harry Potter

Doctor Who
rainbow
sleep
internet
musicals and other stuff

I hate....
cold weather
being sick
and the feeling of failure

Anyways... I'm having the longest day. I woke up really late and then I had to rush to finish my econ homework (didn’t work). I don’t know why i procrastinate so much it just bites me in the butt. On top of that I failed AP Chem so I had to go through the embarrassment of returning the book and saying goodbye to my lab partner. Now in its place I have this awful class that is more like advanced breathing than anything else. But I'm not complaining I like A's. A is one of my favorite letters along with L and O. Okay now I'm just being weird. I'm going to stop talking about school now.

Well today was the second day of Les Miserables. I love love love the music but stupid band is keeping me from having any major singing lines (I want to be one of the sluts) because our festival is the same day as the Show. If it comes down to it I'm skipping festival. Why am I still talking about school...? I need help.

-----

So how did you guys feel about the End of time part 2? I cried! With all of that epic epicness he dead by saving an old guy!!!! Really? I'm going to miss David. I don’t know how much I'm going to miss Russell T though. I still haven’t forgiven him for that Children of Earth mess. And I don’t know how I feel about the Doctor going around and snipping off the random ends.  Cant wait til the next series!
---
@ Sunday you finally got your scarf!!!! I'm sorry it took so long.
@ Tuesday I'll watch your show if you watch Doctor Who. we can compare notes
@Friday After reading your blog the first thing I thought was Times Square is cold...13 hours of cold. As cold as it is I'm hoping to have an adventure like that someday.

Happy Wednesday (I'm going to get better at this I promise)
